Volunteer Tutor Application

VOLUNTEER TUTOR APPLICATION

The Position
Volunteer Tutors are model students who effectively facilitate online and in-person one-on-one tutoring sessions through the Learning Center, work directly with the Coordinator of Tutoring Services, learn valuable academic and professional skills through training, and help UNT's students become better learners.
 
Position Requirements
  • Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Earned a grade of “A” in the UNT courses in which a tutor facilitates 
  • Available to tutor students on-campus
  • Ability to utilize Zoom for conducting tutoring sessions
  • Ability to communicate well through both oral and written forms of communication
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook to schedule appointments with students
  • Ability to effectively work remotely
  • Available to uphold a consistent 1-4 hour weekly schedule
Position Responsibilities
  • Tutoring students in a variety of courses
  • Conducting in-person tutoring sessions on UNT's campus
  • Conducting online tutoring sessions via Zoom
  • Completing required initial VT training 
  • Attending periodic check-ins organized by supervisory team
  • Answering e-mail correspondence in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

GRE Session Three Option Two

You are registering for the 6 week GRE Session 3 Option 2 meeting for three weeks on the following days and time:

Thursdays from 3-4:30pm starting the week of June 19 and ending the week of July 24

Learning Center Payment and Refund Policy
 
The entire Learning Center staff appreciates your interest in our courses. We hope that this will be an enriching educational experience. Your participation is vital to our continued success. Regular attendance is expected and will prove valuable to your personal development. All workshops requiring payment have the following refund policy:
  • No refunds shall be given after 4:00pm on the Friday before the course begins. All registrations after this date are non-refundable.
  • No refunds shall be given after materials on Canvas have been accessed.
  • All refunds for registration payments are disseminated by Student Accounting and will be processed within 30 days.

3 Week GRE Winter Session

You are registering for 3 Week GRE Winter Session meeting for three weeks on the following days and time:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00-2:30pm starting the week of December 19th and ending the week of January 9th. (No classes the week of Dec. 26th)

The Tutoring Services team works hard to process all requests as quickly as possible. We cannot guarantee that requests for same day or next day appointments can be fulfilled. We recommend providing availability for three-seven days out from the original request and planning on receiving a response within 24-48 business hours.
