What to Expect
In order to have the best experience, please note the following:
  • Due to the limitations of virtual services, this service is recommended when only 5-10 minutes of help is needed per problem.  If you are needing whole concepts reviewed, we recommend using our one-on-one tutoring services here
  • Math tutors will rotate among all students present, spending 1-5 minutes with each student at a time. This may require them to get you started on a problem, leave, and return to check on you after they have rotated among other students.
  • Space is limited in our Virtual Math Lab; in order to provide the best service, a ratio of 3 students per tutor will be maintained, and students will be helped in the order that they arrive.
  • Have specific questions prepared before you enter the Virtual Math Lab.
  • Have all notes and any relevant classroom materials in front of you before you enter the virtual Math Lab.
Please Note: Our tutors will not and cannot provide or check answers on homework or other graded assignments. We can provide assistance working through the problems and work through alternate examples.
Have a question or two and don't need a whole session? Submit your questions via Ask-A-Tutor, UNT's asynchronous tutoring service! Once questions are submitted, a tutor will provide feedback within 48 hours (2 business days). Please note, The Learning Center's Tutoring Services will not work on homework or assignment problems for you, check assignment answers, assist with take-home quizzes or essays, or repeat class lectures.
