GRE Preparation Course

Do you want to prepare for the GRE but don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on a preparation course? Then the Learning Center's 6 class GRE Preparation Course is the one for you.  Click here to register for the course. The GRE Preparation Course is designed to:
  • Assess your current performance and help you create goals relevant to your intended graduate programs' requirements
  • Give you an overview of the test format and structure
  • Help you learn the different question types and successful strategies for each question type
  • Help you individualize effective time-saving strategies based on your strengths and weaknesses
  • Teach you what content is assessed by the test
  • Help you determine what content areas you need to improve and provide ways for you to improve those skills
  • Provide in-class instruction on all strategies taught
  • Allow for hands-on practice of the computer format through the use of an on-line program
  • Provide (optional) out-of-class practice to allow you to continue to improve your skills even after the course ends

How does the GRE Preparation Course work?
  • There is an $80 fee for materials, which includes the Kindle version of the Kaplan GRE book, that will be charged to your student account
  • The class meets six times for 90 minutes each time via Zoom video conferencing
  • You will be added to a Canvas page the week your course begins
  • Sessions are offered in the fall, spring, and summer
  • The Learning Center Refund Policy dictates that no refund shall be given after 4pm on the Friday before your class begins.

Fall 2020 GRE Preparation Course Schedules:
The GRE course is offered during the Fall 2020 semester via Zoom. Six week and three week courses are offered.
 
Six Week Courses
 
Session #1: Week of August 31 - Week of October 5
  • Option #1: Tuesdays, 4:30-6pm (9/1-10/6) 
  • Option #2: Thursdays, 2:30-4pm (9/3-10/8)
The courses during this session will start the week of August 31st. The last class will be held the week of October 5th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.
 
Session #2: Week of October 12 - Week of November 16
  • Option #1: Mondays, 1-2:30pm (10/12-11/16)  
  • Option #2: Wednesdays, 10:30am-12pm (10/14-11/18) 
The courses during this session will start the week of October 12th. The last class will be held the week of November 16th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.
 
Three Week Courses
 
Session #3: Week of August 31 - Week of September 14
  • Tuesday & Thursdays, 1-2:30pm (9/1-9/17)
The course during this session will start the week of August 31st. The last class will be held the week of September 14th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.
 
Session #4 : Week of September 21 - Week of October 5
  • Monday & Wednesdays, 5:30-7pm (9/21-10/7)

The course during this session will start the week of September 21st. The last class will be held the week of October 5th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.

Session #5: Week of October 12 - Week of October 26
  • Mondays & Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm (10/12-10/28)
The course during this session will start the week of October 12th. The last class will be held the week of October 26th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.
 
Session #6: Week of November 2 - Week of November 16
  • Tuesday & Thursdays, 5:30-7pm (11/3-11/19)
The course during this session will start the week of November 2nd. The last class will be held the week of November 16th. Classes will meet virtually through Zoom on the specified day and time.
